(Worrells Lane, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Worrells Lane which extends from Moorend Road north eastwards for 150m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon telecom ducting works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.

Alternative route: Bristol Road, Winterbourne Hill, Dragon Road, Mill Road and vice versa.

(Moravian Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Moravian Road which extends from Cecil Road to Regent Street.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon manhole cover replacement works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 nights duration, between 7pm and 6am.

Alternative route: Cecil Road,  Blackhorse Road, Regent Street.

(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Portway Lane which extends from a point 250m south of Little Sodbury End Lane southwards for 250m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with fibre installation works.

The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration.

Alternative route: Little Sodbury End Lane, Horton Road and vice versa.

(Avon Ring Road Carsons Road Roundabout to Dramway Roundabout – Southbound, Siston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Avon Ring Road Carsons Road Roundabout to Dramway Roundabout southbound carriageway which extends from Dramway Roundabout to Carsons Road Roundabout.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works. The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration, between 8pm and 6am.

Alternative route: A4174 (part unaffected), B4465, A46, A420, A4174 (part unaffected).

(Westerleigh Road – Northbound, Yate)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Westerleigh Road northbound carriageway which extends from Shire Way northwards for 330m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with Active Travel CRSTS works. The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 months duration.

Alternative route: Shire Way, Rodford Way.

(Public Footpath LWB/14/10, Hambrook)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath LWB/14/10. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon construction works.

The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of six months. 

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration.

Alternative route: Stoke Gifford Bypass, LWB/12/10 and vice versa.

(The Plain; B4061 Gloucester Road and Quaker Lane, Thornbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with GPR survey works. The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 4 nights duration, between 8pm and 6am.

SCHEDULE 1. The Plain – from B4061 Gloucester Road westwards for 45m; 2. B4061 Gloucester Road – from The Plain northwards for 130m; 3. Quaker Lane – its entire length.

Alternative routes: 1. Castle Street, Park Road, then as per diversion further listed; 2. & 3. B4061(part unaffected), Morton Way, Midland Way, B4061 (part unaffected) and vice versa. Note: Weak bridge 17T on B4061.

(Greenhill, Alveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Greenhill which extends from A38 Gloucester Road north westwards for 20m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with Active Travel CRSTS works. The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Bath Road which extends from Freezing Hill Lane south westwards for 210m (to county boundary with BANES) and north westwards for 270m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon HFS works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order became operative from 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration, between 8pm and 6am.

Alternative route: Lansdown Road, George Street, Charlotte Street, Upper Bristol Road, A4, A431, Bath Road (A431), High Street, Bath Road, Cherry Garden Road, Barry Road, High Street, Bath Road, London Road, Homeapple Hill, Riding Barn Hill, Church Road, High Street, Bath Road and vice versa.

(Filton Avenue; Cleve Road and Northway, Filton) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) (Temporary Prohibition of Left Turn) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has:- a) closed, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this notice; and b) prohibited, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the road specified in column 1 of Schedule 2 to this notice from making a left turn into the road specified in relation to that road in column 2 of the said Schedule. 

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon installation of electrical ducting, cable and jointing works.

The order became operative from 28 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The restrictions however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that the works at each location will be carried out on the dates specified in the relevant Schedule. See Schedule 3 for alternative routes.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new main installation works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 30 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of New Road which extends from a point 40m south east of Swallows Court southwards for 30m (to junction with the bus gate).

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new crossing facilities works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 week duration, between 8pm and 6am. No alternative route available: Cul-de-sac.

(Weir Lane, Marshfield) (No.3) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Weir Lane which extends from a point 75m south of High Street westwards for 145m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new gas connection works.

The order will be operative from 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Beach Lane which extends from Beachcroft Lane north westwards for 235m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon electricity pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 18 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration, between 9am and 5pm.

Alternative route: Beach Lane (parts unaffected), Wick Lane, Marshfield Lane and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath LIA/33/10 which extends from a point 200m north of public footpath LIA/34/10 northwards for 30m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon crossing upgrade works. The order will be operative from 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of six months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (Various Roads, Parkway Station Area, Stoke Gifford) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Protection of School Entrances – No Stopping) (Variation) Order 2016 in so far as it relates to the No Waiting at Any Time specified in the Schedule to this notice.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with resurfacing works. The order will be operative from 17 August 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
