(Temporary Closing Of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield During ‘The Great Fete’) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A1000 Great North Road, Hatfield from its junction with B6426 St Albans Road East southwards, south eastwards, south westwards and south eastwards to its junction with the B197 French Horn Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 695m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: B6426 St Albans Road East and B197 French Horn Lane.
The Order is needed to ensure public safety and prevent traffic congestion for the duration of ‘The Great Fete’ event.
The Order will come into effect from 8 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The event is scheduled for 2 days and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

Temporary Traffic Management Measures On Knella Road, Welwyn Garden City And Various Footpaths In Welwyn Garden City) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect which will be:-
1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Knella Green, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Salisbury Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Knella Road, a distance of approximately 198m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via: Salisbury Road and Knella Road.
Additionally, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of road, whilst works are in progress.
2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath ("the Footpaths"):-
a) the footpath fronting Nos.1-12 Knella Green, Welwyn Garden City from its northernmost junction with Knella Green south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Knella Green, the footway situated on the south side of Knella Road, the footway situated on the north west side of Salisbury Road and the footway situated on the north east side of Knella Green.
b) the footpath fronting Nos.25-36 Knella Green, Welwyn Garden City from its northernmost junction with Knella Green south westwards, south eastwards, south westwards, south eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 142m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Knella Green, the footway situated on the south side of Knella Road, the footway situated on the north east side of Heronswood Road, the footway situated on the north west side of Salisbury Road and the footway situated on the south west side of Knella Green.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpaths.
The Order will come into effect on 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footpaths.

(Temporary Closing Of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell) Order No.3 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Harmer Green Lane, Digswell from its junction with Barneswood south westwards for a distance of approximately 150m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Harmer Green, Burnham Green Road, Bramfield Road, Datchworth Green, Mardleybury Road, B197 (London Road/Marley Hill/Great North Road), A1000 (Welwyn Bypass Road/Hertford Road), Hertford Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road and Harmer Green Lane.
The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of The Footpath Situated On The North Side Of ‘Potters Bar Community Hospital’, Potters Bar) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath situated on the north side of ‘Potters Bar Community Hospital’, Potters Bar from its junction with A1000 Barnet Road south eastwards to its junction with Powis Court, a distance of approximately 102m ("the Footpath").
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of A1000 Barnet Road, the footway situated on the north side of Byers Close and the footway situated on the west side of Powis Court.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas mains is proposed to be executed on or near the Footpath.
The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 26 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Lemsford Village, Lemsford from a point 177m north west of its junction with the B197 Great North Road/A1(M) (junction 5) roundabout north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m ("the Road"), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Lemsford Village, B197 Great North Road, B653 Brocket Road and Lemsford Village.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing gas main is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on that length of A1001 South Way, Hatfield from a point 100m south west of its junction with the access road leading to the ‘District Cemetery’ north eastwards for a distance of approximately 300m ("the Road"), when signs are in place.
The Order is needed to facilitate a constant induction trench on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A1000 Great North Road, Brookmans Park/Hatfield/Welham Green from its junction with B158 Kentish Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with the A1001 South Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 3914m ("the Road"), except for access.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Parsonage Lane, Hatfield from its junction with Pooleys Lane south eastwards to its junction with Dellsome Lane, a distance of approximately 241m ("the Road"), except for access.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Tylers Causeway, Hatfield from its junction with Newgate Street Village north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Cucumber Lane, a distance of approximately 1612m.
An alternative route will be via C54 (unnamed road), Church Road, Robins Nest Hill, B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill/Kentish Lane) and Woodfield Road.
2. that length of C54 (unnamed road), Epping Green/Newgate Street from its junction with White Stubbs Lane south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Tylers Causeway, a distance of approximately 537m.
An alternative route will be via Church Road, Robins Nest Hill, B158 (Lower Hatfield Road/unnamed road/Essendon Hill/High Road/Cum Cum Hill/Kentish Lane), Woodfield Road and Tyler Causeway.
3. that length of Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street from its junction with Tylers Causeway southwards, south westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 839m.
An alternative route will be via Tylers Causeway, Woodfield Lane, B158 Kentish Lane, A1000 Great North Road, B157 (Shepherds Way/The Ridgeway), Carbone Hill and Newgate Street Village.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 15 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B156 Coopers Lane, Potters Bar/Cuffley from a point 68m north east of its junction with Coopers Lane Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").

The Order will come into effect from 25 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Chennells, Hatfield) Order 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chennells, Hatfield from its junction with High Dells south westwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
