What is happening?
Somerset Council Parishes of Whitestaunton and Wambrook Temporary Closure of Crawley Cutting
Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Crawley Cutting - from the junction with Shells Lane, south-westwards for a total distance of 845 metres. This Order will enable Southwest Overhead Services Ltd to carry out pole replacement works on behalf of Openreach.
The Order becomes effective on 5th August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 16th August 2026 and last until 16th August 2026 between the hours of 9:00 - 15:30 for a total of 6.5 hours.
