Dartford - Temporary Overnight Road Closure Due To Periodic Maintenance Works

A2 Trunk Road (Dartford Heath To TFL Boundary) - Temporary Traffic Restrictions

Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A2 Trunk Road in the County of Kent, under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prevent incursion to periodical works proposed to be executed on the TfL network west of the boundary.

The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of the London-bound carriageway of the A2 between the road leading from it to the TfL boundary approximately 750 metres north-west of the centreline of the western overbridge at Dartford Heath Interchange (A2018); and the road leading to said length of carriageway at the same junction.

These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake periodic 6-monthly maintenance works on the TfL network.

It is expected that the work will last for approximately 2 nights on each occasion starting on or after Monday 3rd August 2026, starting at 22:00 hours until 05:00 hours.

The Order will come into force on 1st August 2026 and will remain so until 24th December 2027.

Traffic affected by the closures will be diverted using the A2018, B2174, A207 and the A223.

The temporary prohibitions and diversion will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works periods.
