NOTICE OF MAKING OF MODIFICATION ORDER

WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981, SECTION 53

WEST YORKSHIRE METROPOLITAN COUNTY COUNCIL

(MODIFIED) DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT 

(LEEDS METROPOLITAN DISTRICT)

LEEDS CITY COUNCIL RESTRICTED BYWAY 

(FROM STURTON LANE TO ABERFORD ROAD, GARFORTH) DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

The above Order made on 16 July 2026, under section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding a Restricted Byway commencing from SE 4149 3353, at its junction with Sturton Lane, and running in a generally north then north-north-easterly direction for a distance of approximately 123 metres to SE 4151 3365, at its junction with Aberford Road as shown on the Order Map.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map may be seen free of charge at Climate, Energy and Green Spaces Reception, Farnley Hall, Hall Lane, Farnley, LS12 5HA (reference 00243224), from 8.00am to 4.00pm on Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 3.30pm on Friday and also at Garforth Library and One Stop Centre, Lidgett Lane, Garforth LS25 1RH until 19th August 2026. Copies of the Order and Map may also be viewed online www.leeds.gov.uk/PROWorders or obtained by emailing prow@leeds.gov.uk or calling 0113 3782875. Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Public Rights of Way, Farnley Hall, Hall Lane, Leeds LS12 5HA, or by email to PROW@leeds.gov.uk (Quoting reference 00243224) not later than 19th August 2026, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made.

If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Leeds City Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs may itself confirm the Order. If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment Food and Rural Affairs any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
