Buckingham Gate And Stafford Place - Introduce 22.7 Metres Of Double Yellow At Any Time Waiting And Loading Restrictions

BUCKINGHAM GATE AND STAFFORD PLACE THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (D ZONE) (AMENDMENT NO. 25) ORDER 2026

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council on 20th July 2026 made the above Order under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 63 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Order will be to:
(a) on the south-west and south-east sides of the cul-desac of Buckingham Gate, opposite the Embassy of Italy, introduce 22.7 metres of double yellow "at any time" waiting and loading restrictions, replacing three pay-by-phone parking bays and 4.5 metres of single yellow line waiting restrictions;

(b) on the north-east side of the cul-de-sac of Buckingham Gate, outside the Embassy of Italy, introduce three diplomatic parking bays, replacing 18.2 metres of single yellow line waiting restrictions; and

(c) on the north-west side of Stafford Place:
(i) introduce a diplomatic parking bay opposite No. 21, replacing 5.5 metres of residents' parking;
(ii) relocate the cycle hangar opposite No. 21 southwestward by 8.3 metres to opposite No. 18, replacing 3.5 metres of residents' parking; and
(iii) extend the single yellow line waiting restrictions opposite No. 20 north-eastward by 3.5 metres.

Please note that the proposed measures in Grosvenor Square, as set out in the Notice of Proposals advertised on 13th May 2026, have been abandoned.

3. The Order, which will come into force on 23rd July 2026, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection until 31st August 2026 at https://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/ notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00a.m. and 5.00p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
