What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
HIGH LANE, SUTTON UPON DERWENT

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along High
Lane, Sutton Upon Derwent between the junctions of
Main Street and Sandhill Road commencing 31 July
2026 to allow for carriageway patching works.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The order is valid for 18 months but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within one day.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure is via Back Road, Wilberfoss Road, York Road,
Hull Road, Sutton Lane, The Street and Sandhill Lane,
Newton on Derwent CP, Allerthorpe CP, Sutton Upon
Derwent CP, Barmby Moor CP, Thornton CP, Wilberfoss
CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but access
will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
