NOTICE OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER

PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2026

The above Order, made on 6th May 2026, under section 118 of the Highways Act 1980, will extinguish the public footpath from immediately outside the Lych Gate entrance to St Mary's Church ('A' on the attached Plan), running on an access track between Oliverson's School playing field and St Mary's churchyard, turning WSW across the N edge of the school field then via a stile to leave the school grounds and onto the housing estate known as Caraway Green (formerly a pasture), passing through several properties across the estate to an unmarked point in the rear garden of no.25 Midchapel Road ('B'), also running from a point ('C') on Chingle Hall Crescent in front of no.37, through no.62 Chingle Hall Crescent and adjacent greenspace by a balancing pond to the southern end of the bridge over the small stream near the north-west corner of the estate, and also running from a point ('J'), at the north side of the field boundary, 135m north of the bridge over the stream ('D'), northwards across the middle of 3 fields to join the farm track just before the buildings ('K') as shown on the Order Map.

The Order will amend the Definitive Map and Statement for the County of Lancashire accordingly.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at my offices from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Copies of the Order and Map may be bought there at the price of £1.00.

Any representations about, or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to the Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, PO Box 100, County Hall, Preston, PR1 0LD (REF: LSG4/FJ4/104043) not later than Wednesday 19th August 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Lancashire County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the Order.
