SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF
PAINSTHORPE LANE, KIRBY UNDERDALE
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of
Painsthorpe Lane, Kirby Underdale between its junction
with Roman Road, Painsthorpe, South Wold, Garrowby
Hill, Garrowby Street, Barf Lane, Main Street, Town End
Hill and Howe Lane commencing 10 August 2026 at
08.00 hours until 18 September 2026 at 18.00 hours
to install ducting and chambers for the new BDUK fibre
network on behalf of Quickline Communications for
part of Painsthorpe Lane, Kirby Underdale. The road
closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried
out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of
the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is
anticipated that the works will be completed within
five days. The alternative route for traffic affected by
the road closure will be via Painsthorpe Lane, Roman
Road, South Wold, Garrowby Hill, Garrowby Street,
Barf Lane, Main Street, Town End Hill and Howe Lane,
Bugthorpe CP, Bishop Wilton CP, Kirby Underdale CP,
Wolds Weighton Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
