What is happening?
CYCLE ROUTE – BELFAST
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Cycle Routes
(Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2026” (S.R. 2026 No. 140), which comes into operation
on 3 August 2026.
The Rule provides a two-way cycle shared track on a length of Stranmillis Embankment,
Belfast. It will also revoke and re-enact certain other cycle lanes on Stranmillis Embankment.
A copy of the Rule may be viewed at DfI offices during office hours (Monday to Friday 9.00
a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) by appointment only. Appointments can be arranged either by email to
activetravel@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk

EASTERN DIVISION
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION
MANSE ROAD, BELFAST
Notice is hereby given that the Department for Infrastructure using its powers under Article 7
(1) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, has temporarily
prohibited the use, by traffic of:-
Manse Road, Belfast from Cadger Road / Manse Road junction to Manse Park / Manse
Road junction.
This road will be closed continuously,
from Monday 27th July until Friday 28h August 2026.
The closure is required for installation of a new water main by Northern Ireland Water.
Alternative route: Cadger Road – B178 Comber Road – A7 Saintfield Road – A24
Saintfield Road – Manse Road.
Access will be maintained for Residents.
