What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF
CHURCH LANE, EAST COTTINGWITH

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
part of Church Lane, East Cottingwith from its junction
with St Marys Close northbound to the end of the lane
commencing 17 August 2026 at 08.00 hours until
21 August 2026 at 18.00 hours for the purposes of
excavation to install telecoms cable and chamber
to link to the existing telecoms apparatus work.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within five days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via: N/A no through road.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians.
