Key Street - New Pay-and-Display Parking Bay

IPSWICH BOROUGH COUNCIL (SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (BOROUGH OF IPSWICH) (STOPPING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS AND ON-STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2019) ON-STREET PARKING PLACES (KEY STREET) ORDER 2026

Ipswich Borough Council ("the Council") under Sections 1, 2, 4, 45 and 46 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, proposes to make the above Order, the effect of which will be to amend certain aspects of the Suffolk County Council (Borough of Ipswich) (Stopping, Waiting and Loading Prohibitions and Restrictions and On-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2019, as amended, by replacing revision 4 of Map Tile GM123 with revision 5 of the same Map Tile, and by amending Schedule 1 of the Order. The effect of this would be the designation and creation of a 19 metre length public paid for parking bay ('pay and display') on Key Street in the Borough of Ipswich adjacent to the side of 1A Wherry Quay.

The fees for leaving a vehicle will be as follows and such charges shall apply daily between 8am and 10pm daily. The maximum stay will be 3 hours during charging hours (i.e. daily between 8am and 10pm) with no return permitted within 1 hour and the class of vehicle will be up to 3500kg GVW.

Up to 30 minutes = £1.40 Up to 1 hour = £2.60 Up to 2 hours = £4.40 Up to 3 hours = £6.20

Exemptions to the waiting restrictions allow a vehicle to wait for so long as is necessary to board or alight or to load or unload for building, industrial or demolition works; for emergency services; for the maintenance of the road or its services and to fulfil statutory duties. The usual exemptions for blue badge holders will apply.

The tariffs, class of vehicle, charging hours and maximum stay at other existing on-street public paid for designated parking places within the Borough of Ipswich, as already listed in schedule 1 of the above Order, remain unchanged.
