THE CASTLE FIELDS PUBLIC PATH CREATION AGREEMENT 2026
RELATING TO FOOTPATHS IN BERKHAMSTED
The above-named Agreement, made on 11th June 2026 under section 25 of the Highways Act 1980, has the effect of creating two public footpaths.
Route 1 running from New Road at SP 9966 0810 and then running uphill along a grassy track NNE towards the tree line to a junction with Route 2 at SP 9975 0823 then continuing to meet the trees and cross Berkhamsted FP 2 at SP 9978 0828. The footpath continues uphill following the grassy track generally N and NNE to meet Berkhamsted FP 58 at SP 9988 0866
Route 2 running from a junction with Route 1 at SP 9975 0823 then continuing uphill along a grassy track to meet the trees and cross Berkhamsted FP 2 at SP 9981 0827 and continuing uphill following the grassy track generally NNE to re-join Berkhamsted FP 2 at SP 9998 0848.
Under section 25 there is no right of objection, and the Agreement has taken immediate effect.
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF TROWLEY BOTTOM, FLAMSTEAD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Trowley Bottom, Flamstead from its junction with White Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 56m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via White Hill, Trowley Hill Road and Trowley Bottom. The Order is needed because the replacement of a defective valve is proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE STREET, CHIPPERFIELD) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Street, Chipperfield from a point 148m north west of its junction with Kings Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 115m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via The Street, Kings Lane, Chapel Croft and The Street. The Order is needed because utility connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 10 August 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 13 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN HEMEL HEMPSTEAD AND PIMLICO)
ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
1. that length of Bunkers Lane, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Bedmond Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 50m.
An alternative route will be via Bedmond Road, Chambersbury Lane, Georgewood Road, Barnacres Road, Belswains Lane and Bunkers Lane.
2. that length of Highwoodhall Lane, Pimlico from its junction with Bedmond Road south westwards to its junction with Abbots Langley Public Bridleway No.076, a distance of approximately 219m.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. that length of Hyde Lane, Pimlico from its junction with Bedmond Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 350m.
An alternative route will be via Hyde Lane, Bedmond Road, Bunkers Lane, Lower Road and Hyde Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing water main is proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 6 months to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF DUDSWELL LANE, DUDSWELL) ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Dudswell Lane, Dudswell from its junction with Boswick Lane south eastwards to its junction with A4251 Tring Road, a distance of approximately 480m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Boswick Lane and A4251 Tring Road.
The Order is needed because sewer connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Belmont Road, Hemel Hempstead from its junction with Belswains Lane north eastwards to its junction with Stonelea Road, a distance of approximately 749m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Belswains Lane, St Albans Hill, Leys Road and Stonelea Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 27 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chad Lane, Flamstead from its junction with Old Watling Street north eastwards to its junction with Flamstead Public Footpath No.010, a distance of approximately 212m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Old Watling Street, A5183 (London Road/Dunstable Road), B4540 (Luton Road/Markyate Road), Front Street, Pepsal End Lane, C156 (unnamed road) and Chad Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 23 July 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
