Nottinghamshire - Temporary Closure Of Bridleways For Essential Surfacing Repairs

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAYS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MANSFIELD BRIDLEWAY NO.50 & 51, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD BRIDLEWAY NO.65 & 175) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
No person shall:-
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed and
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following lengths of bridleway at Mansfield in the District of Mansfield and Sutton in Ashfield in the District of Ashfield:-
Mansfield Bridleway No.50 from Mill Lane along Sutton in Ashfield Bridleway No.175 over the Equestrian Bridge to Sutton in Ashfield Bridleway No.65 and along Mansfield Bridleway No.51 to Hermitage Lane.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-
From Sunday 9th August 2026 08:00hrs to Thursday 13th August 2026 18:00hrs inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available via public rights of way.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the bridleways. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to enable access and essential surfacing repairs and curing time on the equestrian bridge and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the bridleway.
THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN
SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED
THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 22ND DAY OF JULY 2026.
