THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(LANEHAM FOOTPATH NO.4A,NO.22 &NO.23) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-
No person shall:-(a) proceed on foot, in the following lengths of footpath at Laneham in the District of Bassetlaw :-
Laneham Footpath No.4A between junctions with Moor Lane and Main Street.
Laneham Footpath No.22 between junctions with Moor Lane and Main Street.
Laneham Footpath No.23 between junction with Main Street and joining point with Dunham-on-Trent Footpath No.1.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:- From Monday , 17th August 2026 until Monday , 1st February 2027 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no direct alternative route available via Public Rights of Way.
The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out or in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.
The prohibition is required to enable the Environment Agency to rectify defects on the flood embankment and reinstatement of surface integrity following works and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 23rd DAY OF JULY 2026 .
