TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C688 HAWSTEAD ROAD, NOWTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C688 Hawstead Road, Nowton from the junction with Half Farm Lane for 30 metres northbound to facilitate water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be the A1302, the A134, Stanningfield Road, Chapel Road, Old Lane, Donkey Lane, Lanhinglefield Green, Shimpling Road, Little Chadacre, Mill Hill and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/07/2026 - 22/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Cooks Road, Cross Street, New Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/07/2026 - 24/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Parkway, St Andrew Street North and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/07/2026 - 31/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

• A1022 Greyfriars Road Footway, Ipswich from Star Lane Footway for 15 metres westbound.
• A1156 Star Lane Footway, Ipswich from Greyfriars Road Footway for 15 metres eastbound.

For the duration of this closure there will be a temporary suspension of the one-way provision on the ZU3628 Little St Johns Street, Woodbridge from the junction with St Johns Street to the junction with New Street to allow access and egress.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 7pm on 20/07/2026 to 6am on 21/07/2026 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

It is intended that the closures will operate from:

• 1. 20/07/2026 - 31/08/2026.
• 2. 31/08/2026 - 16/10/2026.

If necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
