What is happening?

(NALDER HILL, SPEEN) (REVOCATION OF 3t WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026 (the Order)
West Berkshire District Council GIVES NOTICE in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 that it PROPOSES to make an Order under Section 1(1) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and any other enabling powers the effect of which will be to permanently revoke the following order in its entirety
ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKSHIRE (NALDER HILL, SPEEN)
(WEIGHT RESTRICTION) ORDER 1978
And revoke Schedule 2 of the ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKSHIRE (Metrification of Weight Restrictions) Order 1991 insofar as it pertains to Nalder Hill

Copies of the draft Order, the orders to be revoked, explanatory statement and accompanying map can be inspected during the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm Mon-Fri at West Berkshire Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury RG14 5LD and on the Council’s Website www.westberks.gov.uk/nalder-hill-weight

All objections and other representations relating to the proposed order should be submitted via the online survey (link above) or sent in writing to the undersigned, quoting reference TM485001 by not later than 14th August 2026. All objections to the proposed order must specify the grounds on which they are made.
