What is happening?
PUBLIC NOTICE THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (FOUNDRY LANE SAFER ROUTES TO SCHOOL) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL made the above Order on 15th July 2026, the effects of which will be:
1. To introduce no waiting at any time restrictions in the following locations:
a. Ampthill Road, both sides, From its junction with Foundry Lane westwards for 10m.
b. English Road, north side, From 10m west of its junction with Foundry Lane westwards for 10m; From 10m east of its junction with Imperial Avenue to 24m west of its junction with Imperial Avenue, south side, From 19m west of its junction with Foundry Lane westwards for 6m (In place of existing H-bar marking), From 20m east of its junction with Imperial Avenue to 10m west of its junction with Imperial Avenue.
c. Foundry Lane, west side, From 10m south of its junction with Ampthill Road to 10m north of its junction with Ampthill Road; From 10m south of its junction with Kingsley Road to 10m north of its junction with Kingsley Road; From 15m north of its junction with English Road northwards to the extended boundary between 233 and 235 Foundry Lane, east side, From 15m north of its junction with Haysham Road to 3m north of the boundary between 229 and 231 Foundry Lane.
d. Imperial Avenue, both sides, From 10m south of its junction with English Road northwards to 10m north of its junction with English Road.
e. Kingsley Road, both sides, From its junction with Foundry Lane westwards for 10m.
This Order will come into operation on 1st September 2026.
Copies of the Order, relevant map and statement of reasons for proposing can be viewed online at transport.southampton.gov.uk/TRO or may be inspected Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm at the Gateway in the Civic Centre, Southampton SO14 7LY.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks from the date of the Order, make application for this purpose to the High Court.
