What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (BUCKINGHAM ROAD AND VARIOUS ROADS, HEATON MOOR) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Buckingham Road, Heaton Moor from Tatton Road North to Harrow Drive. Tatton Road North, Heaton Moor from Clarence Road to Buckingham Road. Brownsville Road, Heaton Moor at the junction of Buckingham Road.
Peel Moat Road, Heaton Moor from Elms Road to Buckingham Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said roads.
This Order is necessary to allow highway improvement and associated works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 39 days.
The following diversions will be provided: Buckingham Road/Tatton Road North Diversion: Tatton Road North, Elms Road, Peel Moat Road, Buckingham Road, and vice versa. Brownsville Road Diversion: York Road, Peel Moat Road, Buckingham Road and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians or pedal cycles.
This Order is to come into operation on 30 July 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Ref: JO/18234135/04
