What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1081, U1085, U1082 AND U1083 KIRKLINTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road:

Phase 1 Works:

(i) U1081 Kirklinton, from its junction with the U1085, extending in a north westerly direction to its junction with the C1005.

Alternative Route: via the C1005, C1012 and U1085.

Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 5 days

(Ref: TTROC/1902)

(ii) Phase 2 - UI085 Kirklinton, from its junction with the U1081, extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with the U1082.

Alternative Route: via the U1081, C1012 and U1082.

Duration: From 10 August 2026 for approx. 82 days (Ref: TTROC/1902)

Phase 2 Works:

(i) U1082 Kirklinton, from its junction with the U1083, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 720m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1082, U1085 and U1083.

Duration: From 19 October 2026 for approx. 68 days (Ref: TTROC/1904)

(ii) U1083 Kirklinton, from its junction with the U1082, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 550m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of U1083, U1085 and U1082.

Duration: From 4 January 2027 for approx. 5 days (Ref: TTROC/1904)

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
