Cumberland - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Utility Works
What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U1093 LOW CROSBY AND U2136 WESTWARD) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. U1093 Low Crosby, from a point approx. 160 metres northwest of its junction with the A689, extending in an overall northerly direction for approx. 110m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1093, Walby and the A689.
Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0700 and 1800 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/1/8985)
2. U2136 Westward, from its junction with the entrance to Clea Hall Caravan Park, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 500m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U2136, C2041 and C2004.
Duration: From 26 August 2026 for approx. 2 days between 0800 and 1700 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/1/9297)
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
