What is happening?

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1026 HEADS NOOK, U1206 TALKIN AND U1014 EASTON) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable carriage way resurfacing and associated works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

I. CI026 near Heads Nook, from its junction with the U1192, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 60m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, C1035 Faugh and C1024.

Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 5 days between 0800 and 1600 hours, each day (Ref: TTROC/C1026)

2. UI206 Talkin from its junction with The Dell, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 240m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U1206, B6413 and C1031.

Duration: From 3 August 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18995)

3. UI014 Oakshaw Hill, near Easton from a point approx. 40m north of its junction with the UI015, extending in a northerly direction for approx. 60m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the UI014, CI006, C1003 and U1015.

Duration: From 17 August 2026 for approx. 12 days (Ref: TTROC/18996)

A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times

The Order will come into operation on 3 August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
