WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, BARROW IN FURNESS) (BARROW FESTIVAL OF TRANSPORT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to facilitate the holding of the Barrow Festival of Transport ("the Event") on various roads in Barrow-in-Furness, Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order in effect of which is to:-
- Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following lengths of road in Barrow-in-Furness : -
i. Dalton Road, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Buccleuch Street; and
ii. Scott Street, from its junction with Dalton Road to its junction with Dalkeith Street; and
iii. Cavendish Street, from its junction with Dalton Road to its junction with Dalkeith Street; and
iv. Back Dalton Road/Dalkeith Street, from its junction with Cavendish Street to its junction with Scott Street; and
v. Back Dalton Road/Dalkeith Street, from its junction with Scott Street to its junction with Buccleuch Street; and
vi. Stephen Street, from its junction with Dalton Road for its entire length.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Suitable diversion routes for vehicles will be signed accordingly on site.
- Temporarily suspend the existing Prohibition of Driving restrictions along the following lengths of road but only for those vehicles taking part in the Event: N.B. the existing exemptions other than for Police, Fire or Ambulance Service will not apply.
i. Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness, between its junction with Cavendish Street and its junction with Buccleuch Street; and
ii. Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness between its junction with Harrison Street and its junction with Cavendish Street; and
iii. Portland Walk from its junction with Dalton Road to a point 155 metres west of its junction with Stephen Street.

The Order will come into operation on Saturday 18 July 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of three days from that date. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 1 day and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
