SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES

Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders:

(STR000863 PROW HH37 Highworth). This Order is made to allow for DEVELOPMENT WORKS and will impose a closure of PROW footpath HH37 Highworth located in the field off B4000 Shrivenham Road.

Alternative route – An alternative route is to be signed from across the field to the edge of the land subject to development.

The Order came into the force on the 20 July 2024 for 6 months but to allow completion of the works an application for the Order to be extended has been approved by the Secretary of State. The Order will now be in place until the 19 July 2027.

(STR001303 B4000 Shrivenham Road, Highworth). This Order is being introduced for SBC RESURFACING WORKS and will impose a prohibition of driving on the B4000 Shrivenham Road between the junctions with Fresden Lane and the B4508/B4000 Highworth Road.

Traffic to be diverted via A361 Swindon Road and A361 Highworth Road to Rat Trap Roundabout, B4006 Highworth Road, Hobley Drive and Swindon Road to Greenbridge Roundabout, Slade Drive, A4312 Oxford Road to White Hart Roundabout, A420, Townsend Road to Shrivenham, B4000 Highworth Road and vice versa.

The Order comes into force on the 28 August 2026 for 12 months but works are expected to take place on the 28 August 2026 only.
