Brighton - Temporary Road Closures Due To Gas Main Replacement Works

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER

CARDEN CRESCENT AND PEACOCK LANE,

AND HALLETT ROAD, BRIGHTON

1. NOTICE is hereby given that Brighton & Hove City Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order pursuant to powers in Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended which when it comes into force will have the following effect:-

   a) The temporary southbound closure of Carden Crescent at its Junction with Carden Avenue.

   b) The temporary closure of Peacock Lane from its junction with Woodland Way to outside property number 56.

   c) To maintain access during the closure of Peacock Lane, it will be necessary to suspend the entire One-Way Order for Peacocks Lane.

   d) The temporary closure of Hallett Road, from its junction with Pankhurst Road, to its junction with Elm Grove.

2. The Order is necessary to allow contractors to carry out Gas Main Replacement works.
3. Pedestrian access will be maintained, and a signed diversion route will be in place for vehicular traffic.
4. This Order comes into force on 3 August 2026 for eighteen months or until such sooner time as the works are completed, which is anticipated to be 16 November 2026.
