LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 13 July 2026 made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49, 84 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers enabling.

2. (a) The Sutton (Moving Traffic Restrictions) (Amendment No. 14) Order 2026

(b) The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 53) Order 2026

3. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce:-

(a) (20mph speed limit in the following locations:-

(i) Baron Close;

(ii) Bicknoller Close;

(iii) Chiltern Road between its junction with Brighton Road and Cotswold Road and the eastern extent of the Zebra crossing outside Draper House;

(iv) Cotswold Road between its junction with Brighton Road and Chiltern Road and the property boundary of Nos. 33, 35 and 37 Cotswold Road;

(b) introduce waiting restrictions (single yellow lines) operating Monday to Saturday between 11am and 12pm in Station Approach, Belmont; and

(c) reduce certain lengths of parking restrictions and parking bays to facilitate a new Zebra Crossing in Cotswold Road north of its junction with Pelton Avenue.

4. From 20 July 2026, copies of the Orders, of the Council's Statement of Reasons for making the Orders and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Orders may be inspected as follows:-

(a) online at https://streets.appyway.com/sutton selecting the road and restriction as detailed item 2 above;

(b) Council's Civic Offices, St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or

(c) by calling 020 8770 5000.

5. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
