What is happening?
THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ROLAND ROAD, SOUTH REDDISH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) NOTICE 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Roland Road, South Reddish, at the junction of Reddish Vale Road, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for water mains replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 3 weeks. A diversion will be provided via Reddish Vale Road, Lambeth Road, Margate Road and vice versa. This Notice does not apply to pedestrians. This Order is to come into operation on 3 August 2026 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
