Croydon - Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to Maintenance Works

3. During the works the diversion routes for vehicular traffic will be as detailed below.

• Northbound Diversion: Via Farthing Way, Brighton Road, Banstead Road and Foxley Lane.

• Southbound Diversion: Via Foxley Lane, Russell Hill Road, Purley Road, Brighton Road, Farthing Way, Brighton Road, and Lion Green Road.

4. The Order will come into operation on 21 July 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

(a) a vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ADDISCOMBE ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate tram network maintenance works on behalf of TfL, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in Addiscombe Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Addiscombe Road will be closed between its junctions with Canning Road and Chepstow Road.

3. During the closure, vehicular traffic will be diverted as detailed below.

   • Via Chepstow Road, Park Hill Road, Addiscombe Road, and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 02 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

   (a) A vehicle involved in the said work.

   (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

   (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

(EXTENDING BETWEEN HIGH STREET, CROYDON

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate upgrade and repair works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrian movements on Footpath No. 621, The Arcade at Nos. 32–34 High Street, Croydon, that extends between the High Street and the stairway access to Surrey Street.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place Public Footpath No.621 will be closed.

3. Whilst the closure is in force, the alternative route for pedestrians will be via High Street, Croydon, Surrey Street and reversed.

4. The Order will come into operation on 04 August 2026 and will remain in force for 6 months.

5. The restriction shall not apply in respect of:

   (a) a person involved in carrying out the said works.

   (b) a person attending for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

   (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

ST. JAMES’S ROAD, CROYDON

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate drainage works, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular and pedestrian traffic in St James’s Road, Croydon.

2. Whilst the said works are taking place:

   (a) St James’s Road will be closed north westbound (towards Newgate) between its junctions with Tavistock Road and Newgate.

   (b) The south-western footway of St James’s Road will be closed outside Siri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara.

3. The Order will come into operation on 03 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 07 August 2026. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

4. During the work, pedestrians affected by the footway closure will be diverted via a walkway in the carriageway. The alternative routes for vehicular traffic are detailed below. Access for residents will be maintained.

   • Via Cherry Orchard Road, Addiscombe Grove, Barclay Road, Park Lane, and Wellesley Road.

   • Via Sydenham Road, Northcote Road, and Wellesley Road.

5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

   (a) A person or vehicle involved in the said work.

   (b) A vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

   (c) Anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate tram network maintenance works on behalf of London Trams, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily restrict traffic in Station Road and Wellesley Road, Croydon.

2. During the said works:

   (a) Wellesley Road will be closed northbound at its junction with Station Road.

   (b) Vehicles proceeding southbound in Wellesley Road will be banned from turning right into Station Road.

   (c) Station Road will be closed eastbound between the exit of West Croydon Bus Station and its junction with Wellesley Road.

3. Whilst the restrictions are in force the diversion route for traffic will be via Wellesley Road, Croydon Flyover, Old Town, Roman Way, Mitcham Road, Sumner Road, and St James’s Road.

4. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

   (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.

   (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

   (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

5. The Order will come into operation on 02 August 2026, and it is anticipated that the works will be completed within one day. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further work be required.
