READING BOROUGH COUNCIL

(KINGS ROAD, READING) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays directly outside Kennet House, 80 Kings Road, Reading, from the centre point of Crown Bridge to a point approx. 30m east of the point. The Order will come into force on 20 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate crane works during fire safety inspections.

(GREAT KNOLLYS STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays outside numbers 92-98 Great Knollys Street and impose no stopping, waiting or loading/unloading at any time restriction within those bays. The Order will come into force from 20-22 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. Nothing in the Order will apply to vehicles used by Thames Water or their contractors. The Order is necessary for repairs to a clean water leak.

(LYNMOUTH ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bay outside 2 Lynmouth Road and impose a no stopping, waiting, loading or unloading at any time restriction within that bay. The Order will come into force from 18-19 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary for the excavation and installation of new ducting for electric power.

(OAK TREE ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily close the length of Oak Tree Road at the road crossing from outside number 71 to number 68. If made, the Order will come into force from 29 July-4 August 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate new water connection works. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.

(DUNCAN PLACE/BLAKES COTTAGES) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend two parking bays at the junction of Duncan Place and Blakes Cottages from the west side of the bays for approx. 20m and impose a no stopping, waiting or loading/unloading restriction within those bays. If made, the Order will come into force from 24 July 2026 to 26 February 2027 on Mondays-Fridays between 08.00-18.00hrs. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. Nothing in the Order will apply to vehicles used by Kifler Development Ltd or their contractors. The Order is necessary for HGV access to Abbey Wharf during refurbishment works.

(CRESCENT ROAD) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily close that length from outside 71a Hamilton Road to 86 Crescent Road. If made, the Order will take effect from 27 July to 28 August 2026. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by on-site traffic signs. Should the works extend beyond the anticipated duration, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety whilst gas mains replacement works are carried out.

(LONG BARN LANE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily suspend all parking restrictions along the full length of Long Barn Lane, and introduce a temporary No Waiting, No Loading or Unloading restriction. If made, the Order will take effect for two working days from 24 July 2026. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by on-site traffic signs. Should the works extend beyond the anticipated duration, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety to allow highway and drainage maintenance works to be carried out.

(BLAGRAVE STREET/FRIAR STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily:

• Close the length of Blagrave Street between its junctions with Forbury Road and Valpy Street.
• Suspend the westbound single direction restriction on Friar Street between its junctions with Station Road and Blagrave Street.
• Suspend the southbound single direction restriction on Blagrave Street between its junctions with Friar Street and Valpy Street.
• Introduce an eastbound single direction restriction on Friar Street between its junctions with Station Road and Blagrave Street.
• Introduce a northbound single direction restriction on Blagrave Street between its junctions with Friar Street and Valpy Street.

If made, the Order will come into force from 22:00hrs on 25 July 2026 to 06:00hrs on 26 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. The Order is necessary to facilitate crane works to install a generator on a roof. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout.

(LONDON ROAD BUS LANE) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily suspend the Bus Lane (West-bound on London Road). If made, the Order will take effect from 28-31 July 2026. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by on-site traffic signs. Should the works extend beyond the anticipated duration, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is sooner. The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety whilst excavation and installation of electrical cabling works are carried out.

(GARRARD STREET) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2026

Reading Borough Council intend to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the length of the parking bay on Garrard Street at the rear of the Station Hill development for approx. 32m and impose a no stopping, waiting or loading/unloading at any time restriction within that bay. If made, the Order will come into force from 24 July 2026. Should the works take longer than expected the restriction will remain in force for up to 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier. Nothing in the Order will apply to vehicles used by Thames Water or their contractors. The Order is necessary for access to a water chamber within the carriageway.
