What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (U5475 DENT) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U5475 Dent, from its junction with the U5513, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 4.4km.
A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the U5513, C5101 and unrestricted section of the U5475.

The Order will come into operation on 6th August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 2 weeks and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
