NOTICE MAKING TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847 THE THANET DISTRICT COUNCIL VARIOUS ROADS, MARGATE MARGATE PRIDE TEMPORARY CLOSURE ORDER 2026 CLOSURE OF STREETS
1. Notice is hereby given that the Thanet District Council has made an
Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, the effect
of which is to prohibit (except upon the direction or with the permission
of a Police Constable in uniform) any vehicle from proceeding in the
length of streets specified in the schedule to this notice between the
hours of 11.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday 8th August 2026 for a
period of 4 hours on the occasion of Margate Pride.
2. Notices will be erected in the streets to enforce these requirements.
3. The penalty for infringement of the Order is a fine not exceeding
£1,000.
