NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, NEWPORT) (20 MPH AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMITS) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council (hereinafter referred to as “the Council”) in exercise of its powers under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers, intends to make the above named Order, the general effect of which will be to revoke the extents of the existing 30 mph speed limit on the length of road specified in the Schedule below. This length of road will revert to restricted road status and will be subject to the default speed limit of 20 mph due to the presence of street lighting.
Full details of these proposals are in the draft order, which together with the plan and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the order, may be inspected by scanning the QR code below, via request to Conveyancing.Team@newport.gov.uk or by telephone 01633 656656. If you wish to object to the proposals you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to the undersigned by 13th August 2026.
