What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Fleet Street, Beaminster

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along FLEET STREET, BEAMINSTER between no. 29 Fleet Street and no. 37 Fleet Street, a distance of approximately 25 metres.

The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 03 August 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 10 August 2026.

This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access works to attend to urgent water quality issues.

On this occasion there will be no specified alternative route for diverted traffic.

Temporary Closure of Skilling Hill Road, Bridport

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along SKILLING HILL ROAD, BRIDPORT between its junction with B3157 and the entrance to Brewery Cottage, a distance of approximately 145 metres.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users.

It will come into operation on 23 July 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 August 2026.

This Order will enable Chevron, to facilitate scaffolding to enable repairs to the brewery.

An alternative route will be signed using; A35 - B3157.
