(U5193 PALACE LANE CULVERT NEAR CANNY HILL)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable highway repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U5193 Palace Lane Culvert, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 40 metres.

A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the U5192 Hazelrigg Lane, A590, U5193 Back Lane and the unrestricted section of Palace Lane.

The Order will come into operation on 3rd August 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 5 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
