NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

FOOTPATH 39 WETHERSFIELD

The above order, made on 14 April 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 will divert a part length of Footpath 39 Wethersfield of unknown width shown by a bold continuous line on the order map commencing from point A at grid reference 57388,23203 where it enters the property garden of New Barns Farm running in a north easterly direction across the garden through fences and an outbuilding for a total distance of 152 metres to point B at grid reference 57396,23216 where it connects to Byway 17 Wethersfield, to an alternative route 2 metres in width commencing at the aforementioned point A running in a north north westerly direction along a naturally surfaced track for a total distance of 56 metres to point C at grid reference 57386,23209 where it connects to Byway 17 Wethersfield.

Copies of the order and order map can be requested to be posted or viewed by emailing publicpathorders@essexhighways.org to arrange a suitable time to inspect the documents quoting the Order title. Documents can be made available for inspection 8.30am-4.30pm Mon-Fri at Essex County Council, County Hall, E block main reception, Market Road, Chelmsford if so required following the current social distancing restrictions. Copies of the order and order map are available on Essex Highways website at: www.essexhighways.org/public-path-notices and have also been sent to Braintree District Council and Wethersfield Parish Council.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to Public Path Orders, Definitive Map Service, Essex County Council, Seax House, 2nd Floor, Victoria Road South, Chelmsford CM1 1QH not later than 13 August 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, Essex County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent together with the Order. Any such representation or objections will be taken into account by the Council with the result that they may be made available to the public under the Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985.

(Cressing Road, Witham/Witham Road Cressing)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (South Street, Braintree and Bocking)

(Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Cressing Road, Witham/Witham Road Cressing in the District of Braintree from the junction of Polecat Road to the junction of Rickstones Road a distance of approximately 5680m.

  2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of South Street, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Silks Way, to its junction with Railway Street as detailed in “The Essex County Council (South Street, Braintree) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2010” for the duration of the closure only.

  3. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ in the above length of road for the duration of the closure only.

“The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/clearway/suspension is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 13 nights (19:00–05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2397877A & EP201EH2397881A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/clearway/suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce while signage installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

Alternative routes are available via:

  1. B1018, Powers Hall End, Flora Road, Faulkbourne Road, The Street, Church Hill, The Street, Witham Road, The Green, Witham Road, The Street, Notley Road, B1256, B1018 and vice versa.

  2. Polecat Road, Church Road, Temple Lane, Western Road, Park Road, Church Road, Rickstones Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Harebell Drive, Witham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Harebell Drive, Witham in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Bramble Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGTDWD5V – Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting works are undertaken by Openreach.

No alternative route is available.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.18) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of road in the District of Braintree as specified in the Schedule.

  2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.

    “The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

    The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 23rd July 2026 exact dates will be specified on one.network. The road will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Beazley End, Wethersfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 155m south east then south of its junction with Parkhall Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411003WGMW2K9Z – Openreach).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

    An alternative route is available via Beazley End, Parkhall Road, Church Road, A1017, A131, B1053, Church Lane, Church Street, Bovingdon Road, Beazley End and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Duck End, Finchingfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)

    Order 2026

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Duck End, Finchingfield in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 10m north east of its junction with Spains Hall Road for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03168069825 – Anglian Water Business (National)).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

    An alternative route is available via B1053, B1055, B1054, B1057 and vice versa (with access only into Howe Street, Duck End and The Causeway).

    The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Goldingham Drive, Braintree and Bocking)

    (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Goldingham Drive, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 130m north east of its junction with Marlowe Close for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th July 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30036050544 – UK Power Networks).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new supply works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

    An alternative route is available via Masefield Road, Challis Lane and vice versa (with access only into Milton Avenue, Goldingham Drive and Park Drive).

    The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

    (Long Green, Cressing)

    (Temporary Introduction of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)

    Order 2026

    Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

    Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 7.5 Tonne weight restriction in that length of Long Green, Cressing in the District of Braintree from its junction with Galley Roundabout to its junction with Mulberry Avenue a distance of approximately 460m (south bound only) (with the exception of buses and emergency service vehicles).

    The restriction is scheduled to commence on 1st August 2026 for 9 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP40041575311 – Persimmon Essex).

    The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Section 278 works on Braintree Road, Cressing are undertaken by Persimmon Essex.

    An alternative route is available via B1018, B1389, A12, A120, B1018 and vice versa.

    The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
