Effect of the order: To Implement: a ‘20mph Zone’ on the following length of roads, including any turning heads and private drives

(Footpath 36, West Mersea)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 36, West Mersea in the City of Colchester, from its junction with Reymead Close to its junction with Vince Close for approximately 38 metres.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 30 July 2026 to 3 August 2026 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while footpath patching is undertaken, between the times of 08:00 and 16:00.
Alternative route: Vince Close, Bardfield Road B1025, High Street North, Upland Road, Reymead Close and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 30 July 2026 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chapel Street, Rowhedge in the City of Colchester, from a point approximately 20m north west of its junction with Head Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03166463826/G – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 – (20:00–05:00) for 3 nights, or where stated on a valid permit (EP4004503799 – Power On). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway and footway works are undertaken by Power On.
An alternative route is available via B1023, B1024, A12, B1408, A1124, B1026, B1022, and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 23 July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Recreation Way, Brightlingsea in the District of Tendring, from its junction with George Avenue to its junction with Bayard Avenue a distance of approximately 90m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 14th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2396273A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.11) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
- To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Colchester as specified in the schedule.
- A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspending any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 23rd July 2026 exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Collingwood Road, Colchester in the City of Colchester, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AD03010709913/1 – Anglian Water Business (National)). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while reinstatement defect works are undertaken by Anglian Water Business (National).

The works are scheduled to commence after 16th July 2026, as stated on valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

- To temporarily suspend the Bus Gate on Osborne Street as cited in “Essex County Council (Osborne Street, Colchester) (Bus Gate) Order 2025” for the phase durations of the closure on Stanwell Street, Colchester only. Signs will clearly be put in place at this location when the suspension of the Bus Gate is in force.
