(Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.35) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, and Parts IV and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended)

To Implement: ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ Restrictions

Road Description
Robin Hood Road, Elsenham West Side:

i. From the southern extended kerb line of Rush Lane, south for approximately 99 metres.

ii. From the southern extended kerb line of Marian Way, south for approximately 20 metres.

East Side: From a point approximately 10 metres north of its junction with Rush Lane, south for approximately 136 metres (including the tarmacked area leading to the pedestrian’s controlled-access zone (railway line)).

Rush Lane, Elsenham Both Sides: From its junction with Robin Hood Road, west for approximately 12 metres.
Marian Way, Elsenham Both Sides: From its junction with Robin Hood Road, west for approximately 9 metres.

This Order will be incorporated into ‘The Essex County Council (Uttlesford District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019’ by substituting map tiles: TL530 257 and TL530 260 Introducing Revision 0.

(Hampit Road/Main Street/Clatterbury Lane, Church Hill & Wicken Road, Arkesden) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Hampit Road/Main Street/Clatterbury Lane, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 1315m south west then south east of the junction with Newland End Lane for a distance approximately 410m in a south easterly then south westerly direction.

  2. To temporarily close that length of Church Hill, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from both of its junctions with Hampit Road/Main Street for a distance of approximately 120m north easterly then north westerly direction.

  3. To temporarily close that length of Wicken Road, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Main Street/Clatterbury Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 8th August 2026 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WGQW8G9Z07SB/Z05SB/Z08SB/Z09SB/Z06SB – Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while cabling and jointing works are undertaken by Openreach.

Alternative routes are available via

  1. Hampit Road, Bridge Green Road, Duddenhoe End Road, Beards Lane, Coopers End Road, Bridge Green Road, B1039, Cogmore, School Lane, Langley Road, Cogmore, Upper Green Road, Valance Road, Langley Road, Mills Road, Plantation Hill, Lower Road, B1038, Arkesden Road, Clatterbury Lane and vice versa.

  2. Church Hill, Quicksie Hill, Wenden Road, Arkesden Road, B1039, Bridge Green Road, Elmdon, Coopers End Road, Beards Lane, Duddenhoe End Road, Bridge Green Road, Hampit Road and vice versa.

  3. Wicken Road, Poore Street, B1038, Arkesden Road, Clatterbury Lane and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Valance Road, Clavering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Valance Road, Clavering in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Langley Road for a distance of 80m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th August 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGSP131C – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Valance Road, Bull Lane, Langley Lower Green, Langley Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Chrishall Grange Road, Chrishall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Chrishall Grange Road, Chrishall in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 340m north east then north west of its junction with Crawley End Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th July 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNKDH5V – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Chrishall Grange Road, Hertford Lane, Mill Causeway, Heydon Lane, Fowlmere Road, Heydon Road, Newmarket Road, Chrishall Road, Chrishall Grange Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Crawley End Road, Chrishall) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Crawley End Road, Chrishall in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Engleric to its junction with Pinkeneys a distance of approximately 70m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th July 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNTVG1C – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via Crawley End Road, Mill Causeway, Abrams Lane, Palmers Lane, Crawley End Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Frambury Lane, Newport) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Frambury Lane, Newport in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 195m south west of its junction with Cherry Garden Lane for a distance of approximately 30m in a south westerly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410291816 – Affinity Water Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fire hydrant repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water Limited.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hertford Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 450m south east of its junction with Mill Causeway for a distance of approximately 535m in a south easterly direction.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th July 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411001WGNT4C9M – Openreach Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach Limited.

An alternative route is available via Hertford Lane, Mill Causeway, Crawley End Road, The Green, High Street, Hollow Road, Royston Road, Essex Hill, Heydon Lane and vice versa.

(Langley Lower Green, Langley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Langley Lower Green, Langley in the Uttlesford, from a point approximately 800m south east of its junction with Bull Lane for a distance of approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th July 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410314944 – Affinity Water Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while water mains repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water Limited.

An alternative route is available via Park Lane, Bull Lane, Valance Road, Langley Road, Langley Lower Green and vice versa.

(Littlebury Green Road, Elmdon & Littlebury) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 340m north east of its junction with Royston Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 1110m north east, south east then north east of its junction with Roydon Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.

The closures are scheduled to commence on 27th July 2026 for 2 days, or where stated on valid permit (BC411001WGMV674T & BC411001WGMV5W7X – Openreach).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Littlebury Green Road, B1029, B1383, Chestnut Avenue, Littlebury Green Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Uttlesford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.2) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Uttlesford as detailed in the Schedule.

The works are scheduled to commence after 9th July 2026, as stated on a valid permit.

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas main upgrade works are undertaken by Cadent.

The Order came into effect on 9th July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
