What is happening?

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U6195 Rosemary Lane, Flimwell)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Rosemary Lane – from the junction with B2087 Berners Hill to the county border.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21(T) – B2087 High Street, Union Street, Broom Hill and vice versa.

The Order commences 22 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 and 23 July 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C82 Newbury Lane/C537 Monks
Lane/B2100 Cousley Wood Road, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures
Newbury Lane – from the junction with U7887 Newbury Lane to the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road.

Diversion via B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C537 Monks Lane and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 19 July and 21 September 2026.

Monks Lane – from the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road to the junction with C82 Newbury Lane.

Diversion via B2100 Cousley Wood Road – C82 Newbury Lane and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 19 July and 31 August 2026.

Cousley Wood Road – from the junction with U7534 Sleepers Stile Road to the junction with B2100 Sparrows Green Road.

Diversion via B2100 Sparrows Green Road – B2099 High Street, Lower High Street, Moseham Hill, Ticehurst Road, Shovers Green, High Street – B2087 Lower Platts, Dale Hill,

Berners Hill, Broom Hill, Union Street, High Street – A21(T) and vice versa.

The restriction is anticipated to be in place between 23 July and 31 August 2026.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as set out above.

The Order commences 19 July 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken as set out above.
