NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

THE YORK TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (AMENDMENT) (NO 14/18) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 1, 2, 4, and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:

1. Introducing a prohibition on vehicles movement at the junction of Grimston Lane, Dunnington and Eastfield Lane, Dunnington, with vehicles prohibited from turning right into Eastfield Lane from Grimston Lane.

2. Introducing a prohibition on vehicles movement at the junction of Tea Room Square, York and Station Road, York, with vehicles prohibited from turning right into Station Road from Tea Room Square.

3. Introducing a ‘ONE WAY’ direction of travel in Church Lane, Dunnington, to allow vehicles to travel in a north westerly direction of ‘ONE WAY’ traffic flow from its junction with York Street to its junction with Pear Tree Lane.

NOTICE OF PROPOSALS

THE YORK SPEED LIMIT (AMENDMENT) (No 14/19)

ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that City of York Council, in exercise of powers under Sections 82, 83, 84 and Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Act, proposes to make an Order which will have the effect of:

1. Introducing a 20 miles per hour (mph) speed limit in Grimston Lane and Pasture Croft, Dunnington.

2. Introducing a 30 miles per hour speed limit in Eastfield Lane, Dunnington between points 106 metres (terminal point of existing 30mph speed limit), and 207.5 metres north east from the projected centreline Holly Tree Lane, thereby revoking the existing statutory national speed limit from within that length.

3. Introducing a 30 miles per hour speed limit in North Lane, Huntington between points 13 metres (terminal point of existing 30mph speed limit), and 563 metres east from the projected western property boundary of No. 35 North Lane, thereby revoking the existing statutory national speed limit from within that length.

4. Introducing a 40 miles per hour speed limit in Monks Cross Lane, Huntington between points 14 metres north from the centre of the roundabout at its junction with Monks Cross Drive (terminal point of existing 30mph speed limit), and 35 metres south from the centre of the roundabout at its junction with A1237, thereby revoking the existing statutory national speed limit from within that length.

A copy of the draft Orders, Statement of Reasons for making it and relevant maps can be inspected at the Reception, West Offices, Station Rise, York, during normal business hours. Objections or other representations specifying reasons for the objection or representation should be sent to me in writing to arrive no later than 7th day of August 2026.
