What is happening?

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET

The Barnet (Free Parking Places, Loading Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No.305) Order 2026 - The Barnet (Charged-For Parking Places) (Amendment No.206) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet have made on 16th July 2026 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 32, 35 49 and 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

In order to accommodate the introduction of ‘dropped kerb’ vehicle crossovers to enable access to off-street parking facilities, the general effect of the Orders will be to remove existing parking spaces and replace with yellow line waiting restrictions outside the locations as follows:

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 16th July 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, or by writing to: The Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
