(HERRICK PRIMARY SCHOOL AREA) ORDER 2026
Notice Is Hereby Given That Leicester City Council Proposes To Make An Order Under Sections 84(1)
And 84(2) Of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Effect Of This Order Is To Prohibit Any Motor Vehicle
From Travelling At A Speed Exceeding 20 Miles Per Hour Along The Lengths Of Road As Set Out Below:
Alan Close - Whole Length
Arran Road - Whole Length
Birsmore Avenue - Whole Length
Braemar Close - Whole Length
Braemar Drive - Whole Length
Broadford Close - Whole Length
Buckhaven Close - Whole Length
Broxburn Close - Whole Length
Dalkeith Road - Whole Length
Dunblane Avenue - Whole Length
Glencoe Avenue - Whole Length
Gleneagles Avenue - From a point 70m north of the centre line of Peebles Way to it’s cul-de-sac end
Hardys Avenue - Whole Length
Invergarry Close - Whole Length
Kilmelford Close - From its junction with Fullhurst Avenue to its junction with Hallam Crescent East
Kincaple Road - Whole Length
Kincraig Road - Whole Length
Kintyre Drive - Whole Length
Lintlaw Close - Whole Length
Lockerbie Avenue - Whole Length
Melton Road Service Road - From Rushey Close to Glencoe Avenue
Monar Close - Whole Length
Nicklaus Road - From Gleneagles Avenue to Troon Way
Oakland Avenue - Whole Length
Rushey Close - Whole Length
Saltcoats Avenue - Whole Length
Stonehaven Road - Whole Length
Strathaven Road - Whole Length
No speed limit imposed by this Order applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations.
A further effect of this Order is to revoke The Leicester Traffic Regulation (20mph Speed Limit) (Herrick Primary School Area) Order 2006.
A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, and the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order may be seen via the Leicester City Council website: www.leicester.gov.uk/trafficregulationorders or by calling 0116 454 1001 or 0116 454 4866 and requesting paper copies to be sent out via post.
OBJECTIONS to the proposed Order should be sent to Graham.Seaton@leicester.gov.uk or by post to Transport Strategy, Leicester City Council, City Hall, 115 Charles Street, Leicester, LE1 1FZ and marked for the attention of Graham Seaton. Any objections should state the grounds on which they are made and must be received by 7th August 2026.
