Farnham Road - Temporary Road and Footpath Closure Due To Demolition Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (Farnham Road, Newton Hall) (Temporary Road and Footpath Closure) Order 2025
The above-named Order made by the Council on 11/7/2025, under section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and which became operational on 21/7/2025 and was subsequently extended to 21/7/2026 has been continued in force, as approved by the Secretary of State for Transport, until 21/5/2027 or until completion of the works, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road and footpath. Access way to garages and parking area – (closed to vehicular traffic): between Numbers 64 to 66; east of Number 58 and between Numbers 22 to 48. Footpath closures (closed to pedestrian traffic): An 86 metre length between Numbers 64 to 82; a 35 metre length between Numbers 66 to 82 and a 9 metre length west of Number 72; a 60 metre length between side of Numbers 48 to 74; a 55 metre length between Numbers 48 to 64; a 79 metre length between side of Numbers 58 to 74; a 32 metre length between side of Numbers 56 to 58; a 54 metre length between side of Number 40 and to the rear of Number 46 and a 23 metre length to the east of Number 42 to enable demolition works to be undertaken. Alternative routes will be available to pedestrian traffic via other local footways and footpaths in the area.
