Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).
Effect of the orders:
1. To temporarily introduce a 30-mph speed limit as specified below in Writtle/Margaretting in the City of Chelmsford on the following lengths of road between 20:00 18 July 2026 to 20:00 19 July 2026.
Road Direction Description
A414 Greenbury Way Writtle - Both directions - From a point approximately 130 metres west of the junction with A414 Three Mile Hill Roundabout (known as the Widford Church Roundabout) which coincides with the existing 40mph speed limit, in a generally westerly direction for an approximate distance of 1860 metres to a point approximately 29 metres east of the junction with the Margaretting Road Roundabout
A414 Three Mile Hill/London Road Margaretting - Chelmsford Bound carriageway - From a point approximately 26 metres northeast of the junction with the A12/A414 roundabout (known as Webbs Farm Roundabout) in a generally north-easterly direction for an approximate distance of 3069 metres to a point approximately 150 metres southwest of the junction with the A414 Greenbury Way Roundabout (known as the Widford Church Roundabout) which coincides with the existing 40mph speed limit
The Order will come into effect on 18 July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(East Hanningfield Road, Sandon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of East Hanningfield Road, Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 125m south east of its junction with Alexander Mews for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30051057749 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new overhead service connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via East Hanningfield Road, The Common, The Tye, Main Road, Rettendon Road, East Hanningfield Road, Main Road, Southend Road, East Hanningfield Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 23rd July 2026 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Main Road, Great Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Main Road, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 200m north east of its junction with Aragon Road for a distance of approximately 85m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (ZP001N0011948/1 – Gas Transportation Company). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new gas connection works are undertaken by Gas Transportation Company.
An alternative route is available via Main Road, Banters Lane, Mill Lane, Boreham Road, Main Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sporhams Lane, Danbury/Sandon in the City of Chelmsford, from the junction with Fitzwalter Lane for a distance of approximately 1190m in a south westerly then north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th August 2026 for 19 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2408791 & EP201EH2408791A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while surface water alleviation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Sporhams Lane, Woodhill Common Road, Woodhill Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the City of Chelmsford & District of Epping Forest as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of the carriageway as per schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (City of Chelmsford & District of Epping Forest) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of road only.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the Borough of Basildon as specified in the schedule.
