Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 (Variation No.12) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council propose to make an order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order shall be to amend the North Somerset Council (Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to include new 30mph, 40mph and 50mph speed limit on A370 Weston-super-Mare. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this Notice.   • 30mph speed limit: Winterstoke Road (A370) roundabout implement 30mph on the gyratory (map 16, 22), Winterstoke Road implement 30mph, in a southeasterly direction of Winterstoke Road (A370) gyratory to the existing 30mph speed limit on Winterstoke Road (map 16, 22), Winterstoke Road (A370) implement 30mph from Drove Road roundabout to Marchfields Way roundabout (map 10, 16), Marchfields Way (A370) implement 30mph for the whole length between Marchfields Way roundabout and Winterstoke Road roundabout (map 16, 21).

  • 40 mph speed limit: Airport roundabout (A370) implement 40mph on the gyratory (map 14), Moor Lane implement 40mph from Airport roundabout to existing 20mph speed limit (map 13), Flowerdown Bridge (A370) implement 40mph from Airport roundabout in a westerly direction to existing 30mph speed limit (map 12, 13), Herluin Way (A370) implement 40mph from Winterstoke Road roundabout in an easterly direction to existing 30mph speed limit (map 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 22), Hutton Moor Road implement 40mph to approximately 60m north of its junction with Herluin Way (map 11).

  • 50mph speed limit: Somerset Avenue (A370) westbound carriageway implement 50mph from junction 21 gyratory in a southwesterly direction to the existing 50mph speed limit (map 2, 3, 4), Somerset Avenue (A370) westbound carriageway implement 50mph speed limit from the existing 50mph speed limit west of West Wick roundabout to Airport roundabout (map 2, 3, 4), Somerset Avenue (A370) eastbound carriageway implement 50mph from Airport roundabout to the existing 50mph speed limit and from the existing 50mph speed limit northeast of West Wick roundabout to existing 40mph speed limit (map 14, 15).

Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Iwood Lane, Congresbury, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 5 October 2026

Ref: SW26.27-111

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to duct laying. This order will become operative on the 5 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to install a new water supply. This order will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to install new services. This order will become operative on the 5 October 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by National Grid for a pole change. This order will become operative on the 27 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
