PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND

DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT

MODIFICATION ORDER 2026

On the 01 July 2026 Hampshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath from its current alignment which commences at SU 6906 4844 at a junction with Upton Grey Footpath 8 and proceeds in a north-westerly direction for approximately 334 metres to SU 6935 4867; to a new alignment which commences at SU 6962 4839 at a junction with Upton Grey Footpaths 8 and 9 and proceeds in a westerly to north-westerly direction for approximately 359 metres to SU 6935 4857.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD, and at the offices of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH at all reasonable hours; and online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.

The Order comes into force when Hampshire County Council has certified that the work necessary to bring the new path into a fit condition for use by the public has been carried out, but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 17 July 2026 make an application to the High Court.
