Footpath No. 229 (Oxted) Public Path Diversion Order 2026

The above order, made on 9 July 2026 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 19 81 will if confirmed, divert Public Footpath 229 (Oxted) from (OS grid ref. 538580 150062) proceeding south-westerly for 32 metres, then westerly for 20 metres, then crossing the farm track and entering the field through a gate and proceeding westerly for 225 metres to OS grid ref. 538306 150064.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge by appointment (Tel. 0300 200 1003) at Surrey County Council Offices, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford (between 10.00am and 4.00pm from Monday to Friday) during opening hours.

A copy of this notice may be viewed on the Council’s website (www.surreycc.gov.uk) under Footpaths, Byways and Bridleways.

A copy of the Order and map may be purchased from the County Council at a cost of £4.00.

Any representations about or objections to the Order may be sent in writing to Countryside Access quoting reference DW/JW/3/1/31 at Surrey County Council, Whitebeam Lodge, Merrow Depot, Merrow Lane, Guildford GU4 7BQ or by mail to rightsofway@ surreycc.gov.uk by 3 July 2025. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made, are withdrawn, Surrey County Council may confirm the Order as an unopposed Order. If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation any representations, which have not been withdrawn, will be sent with the Order.
