MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC 151334421 : The City of Manchester (Ashdene Road, Withington Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Ashdene Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: (1) Parsonage Road, Fairholme Road, Heyscroft Road, Stephens Road vice versa (2) Stephens Road, Brookleigh Road, Parsonage Road vice versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 30th July 2026 to the 30th August 2026. The order shall come into operation on the 30th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Burnage Lane, Slade Lane, Fair Oak Road, Scarisbrick Road and Shawbrook Road. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Signed locally. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from the 30th July 2026 to the 14th November 2026. The order shall come into operation on the 30th July 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
