VARIATION NO. 01 ORDER 2026 (TRO_102_02)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make the above-named Variation Order under sections 32, 35 and 46 and Part III and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act of 1984”), and Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consulting with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act of 1984.

The effect of the Variation Order, if made, will be to introduce off-street car park charges in Amble Braid car park, Berwick Railway station short stay car park, Cresswell Dunes car park, Cresswell Pond car park and Warkworth Dunes picnic site car park in the County of Northumberland by varying the “Northumberland County Council (Off Street Parking Places) Consolidation Order 2026” (the Order).

It is proposed that the car parks listed above will no-longer be free of charge to use under the Order and if the Variation Order is made then the following off street car park charges will apply and be added to the Order along with two new tariff codes being TF2, TF18 and TF19:

A copy of the draft Variation Order, together with plans and any other relevant documents, notices or Orders as appropriate as well as a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Variation Order are available to view or download on the NCC website https://www.northumberland.gov.uk/roads-and-streets/traffic-management-orders-proposals-and-consultations/traffic-regulation-orders or can be requested by email to HighwaysProgramme@northumberland.gov.uk, or may be inspected by appointment during normal office hours at County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF – please contact Highways Improvements, Technical Services, County Hall, Morpeth, NE61 2EF by email at HighwaysProgramme@northumberland.gov.uk or by telephone on 0345 600 6400 during normal office hours quoting reference: TRO_102_02.
