What is happening?

(BRYN ROAD, COEDFFALDAU AND HEOL Y GOREDLAN, RHIWFAWR)(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council intend in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The effect of the Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from proceeding along the lengths of roads set out in the Schedule below whilst the Order is in force. During such periods as are indicated by traffic signs informing the public that the roads are closed.

In order to enable Step Telecom to carry out civil engineering works and also for the Highway Authority to carry out highway works in the roads, it will be necessary to temporarily close the below roads to vehicular traffic

The Order will come into force on the 29th July 2026 and shall continue in force for a maximum duration of 18 months, or until the works are completed whichever is the sooner, but it is anticipated the works will take 7 weeks to complete.

SCHEDULE
Heol Y Goedlan will be closed from the junction of Rhiw Road in a northerly direction for a distance of 525m along its length.

Coedffaldau will be closed from the junction of Heol Y Goedlan in a northerly direction for a distance of 500m along its length.

Bryn Road will be closed from the junction of Pen Y Bryn in a southerly direction for a distance of 930m along its length

The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via Rhiw Road, Rhiwfawr Road, A4068 Heol Twrch, Heol Gleien, Heol Gwys, New Road and Gwilym Road.

Access for emergency services, residents and pedestrians will be maintained.
