SECTION 14 (1)(a)

PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 174A VARTEG, PONTYPOOL

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the County Borough Council of Torfaen in exercise of their powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended) intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians and cyclists from proceeding along Public Footpath No. 174A, Varteg. This footpath is approximately 80m in length and runs from Shop Road along the north side of Ysgol Bryn Onnen in a south-easterly direction. The footpath is shown by a bold black line from A-B on the Order Map.

An alternative route is available and is shown on the Order Map by a dashed black line marked C-D.

The prohibition is necessary because works are being or proposed to be executed on or near the footpath.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 22nd July 2026 and will continue in force for a period of 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

Bydd y Gorchymyn arfaethedig yn dod i rym ddydd Llun 22 Gorffennaf 2026 ac yn parhau am gyfnod o 6 mis neu hyd nes bod y gwaith wedi cael ei gwblhau, pa un bynnag sydd gynharaf.
